May 23, 2020Still working on this. You said set it up as a new phone 1:08 , install the update and then wipe/reset the phone. So does that mean that the updated ios stays on the phone after I wipe it off after I just installed it?

May 23, 2020My all kind of iPhone data, contacts, photos, videos, WhatsApp data, messages etc. has been lost/removed 2-days ago. My problem started when I forgot my new passcode & after too many wrong hits, my phone get locked. I try to recover through iTune Restore & Update option, but washed everything. My iCloud memory already full past 3 years and since then nothing is backed-up. All was store in phone only. After restoring phone using iTune, my phone become brand new with latest iOS & factory settings but lost everything.
Can anyone help me to recover / retrieve the lost data by any means? or is there any way to go back to previous version or same condition with locked passcode? like in Windows, we can undo the settings and go back to previous version if don't like.? or any other way to get contacts and pics back in phone at least ?.

May 23, 2020You can restore from a backup to a lower firmware. You need to back up to your computer. It will give you a message saying the software is too old. You need to download a plist file editor and go into the iTunes backup folder and it will say version 12.0. You need to change that to something lower. And then it will let you restore from that backup. I did it 2 days ago

May 23, 2020I'm trying to restore a backup from an iPhone SE on 11.3.5 to an iPhone 5 on 10.3.3 but I get the message that the backups are effectively too new. I can't update the iPhone 5 firmware as it's on the latest, likewise I can downgrade the iPhone SE cos it died. Is there any way of getting my data onto the iPhone 5 please ?

May 23, 2020Do I really have to wipe my phone before doing a restore of my backup? I lost data on an ap and I want to do a restore to get my ap's old data back. I have current versions of my iPhone operating system already installed and most recent ap store version on my computer which is where I want to transfer the iPhone back up from. Thanks!!

May 23, 2020Thanks, brother. I thought that was what you had to do just wasnt sure that if you wipe the phone (reset) it would wipe the beta profile therefore wipe the beta and it would be impossible to do but you helped figure it out! Thanks.

May 23, 2020Is it normal not to be able login to iCloud while your apps are restoring? Also a lot of my apps are grayed out and some say waiting. I talked to an Apple employee about this and she said that since I had a 14GB backup that it might take a while. However I left my new iPhone sitting over night and this morning still no dice. I also read a post by Apple that said that for every gigabyte you're downloading that it can take form 1 to 4 hours each. I did the math and that means that I can be waiting for as long as 54 hours! At this point I have just been considering setting it up as a new iPhone and starting over. Arron if you're reading this please enlighten me on this and let me know that it will finish eventually. Thanks in advance and keep up on the awesome content.
