$1 for 3 or Buy 5 get 1 Free is what you typical find at most Vietnamese Sandwich Deli. For those in the know, Vietnamese Sandwich which simply call Bánh Mì is the most inexpensive way to get a quick fix on Vietnamese foods craving. In my family, we eat them for breakfast, lunch, dinner and anytime in between. The French may have brought with them the baguette, but Vietnam takes it to a different level.
Today, we share with you 2 different ways to get your Bánh Mì fix without running to the store every time. You can simply buy 5 and get 1 free then just toast them up in the oven, but hopefully you have enough people in your family to finish them up before they get soggy and unappealing or do what we do. We chose to buy 3 plain baguette for $1. Usually, we buy 9-12 baguettes, wrap them up in aluminum foil then freeze them. Anytime we want Bánh Mì, we just toast them up, put in any available deli meats, top them with pickled radish/carrot, sliced cucumber, sliced jalapeno pepper, cilantro and drizzle soy sauce over them. Voilà, a perfect crunchyyyy….. Bánh Mì every time. Enjoy!
